VISIBILITY MAKES AREAS ACCESSIBLE

An investment in modern floodlights for area lighting benefits both workers and visiting customers. In specific areas such as industrial or port areas, lighting plays a crucial role in ensuring safe working conditions throughout the day. In car parks, for example, it is important to be able to locate yourself with ease, thus avoiding misunderstandings that can lead to accidents. The design of the installation is very important to ensure that the right amount of light goes where it will do the most good.

LIGHTING FOR LARGE AREAS TAKES INTO ACCOUNT:

» OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS - The physical design of luminaires is of utmost importance as luminaires in outdoor environments are exposed to enormous external impact and risk of vandalism. High quality floodlights should have a high Ingress Protection (IP) and vandal class (IK). The luminaire housing should have effective heat dissipation with substantial heat sinks and be made of corrosion resistant material with oven cured powder coating. A five-year warranty provides the basis for trouble-free and safe operation of the system.

» SITE DESIGN - Each area is unique and it is important to position the lighting to minimise the risk of impact or other external influences.

»CONVENIENT AND GLARE-FREE LIGHTING -
Light point height and luminaire angle are of utmost importance when planning the installation. For best lighting comfort, masts or columns at heights of 6-42m, maximum luminaire angle 20 degrees from the horizontal plane and effects adjusted as required are recommended. Asymmetrical light patterns are widely used for lighting large areas.

»HIGH GLOW AND LIGHT WHERE IT IS NEEDED - It's important to define where light is needed most and place light points strategically to achieve the best possible uniformity.

» MINIMISED LIGHT DISTURBANCE - Good shielding and thoughtful luminaire design are important to eliminate light scattering upwards from the luminaire. The night sky should be preserved as light pollution is believed to affect species and ecosystem functions.

Convenient and cost-effective operation

Minimal maintenance and smart controls contribute to low energy consumption and maintenance costs. For example, lighting control systems can ensure that lights are only switched on when needed, which is also beneficial for the already long life of luminaires. For the operator, it is useful to have an overview of energy consumption and the possibility to adjust brightness as needed.

High quality and optimal light comfort in all situations

With nearly 20 years of experience in large area lighting, we have developed customised floodlights with efficient optics to handle the high demands of light comfort and uniformity. An optimised light pattern benefits not only employees and customers, but also nearby buildings, roads and the natural environment around illuminated sites. The right luminaire with the right optics places light where it is needed without discomfort glare and contributes to minimised light pollution. To ensure maximum light comfort and uniformity, we make sure to use custom optics and the right luminaire angles.

We tailor the installation

There are many parameters involved in planning a lighting system for large areas. These range from potential obstructions to appropriate mast heights, luminaire angles and mounting devices. Our skilled consultants will assist with lighting calculations free of charge.
